Kid's Medical Insurance

Imagine, W. will veto extension of the SCHIP program which provides health coverage for poor kids! He keeps digging the republicans a deeper grave and making it easier for Hilary. This old doctor wonders what the administration has against this program.

W.

W. has done it again, this time it's scarier than ever, prompting a former Aussie minister to wonder about the President's competency. To associate Vienam with Iraq and Cambodia in the way W. has done shows a total lack of the knowledge of history. Those who are forgetful of history are condemned to repeat it-as has been said. The old doctor wonders about the president and those who continue to support him.

Leave health to the doctors

The old doc wonders why the government is practicing medicine. There is no room in the health care tent for politics.

There is no doubt in my mind that abortion -especially after 20 weeks, is an undesirable procedure (to say the least). The late term procedure are-thankfully-extremely uncommon. The prohibition of this procedure-championed by the religious right, is-in my opinion, interfering with the practice of medicine. The decision for ANY procedure-odious or not- should be reserved for the doctor and his/her patient. What will the government prohibit next, appendectomy???

The prime example of the government practicing medicine came with the Terry Schiavo case.

In a future blog, I will talk about the government in our bedrooms.

Initial Thoughts

Today is Tuesday, August 21, 2007

This 70 year old ophthalmologist wishes to post random thoughts about random things.

Today, my daily AMA e-mail talks of a possible viral link to obesity. I knew it all the time!! I have been telling my wife for years (while eating croissants with butter and jam) that I have nothing more than an infection! The cure must be chocolate.

I see where the syncophants are bailing out on W. Rove and Snow are gone- who's next? My wife and I are scheduling a party for January 20, 2009-innauguration day. I will celebrate whomever is elected. I predict a Clinton /Obama ticket for the Dems. I have no idea who the Republicans will choose....The only one I can deal with without nausea is Rudy! The GOP has to remember that this is a secular government and lose the religious right.

More on my views on religion later (if anyone reads this blog or cares)
